Santa's Surprise (Close Up)

Here's my take on the classic Rainbow Reversal / Color Cascade packet trick - reimagined especially for my Christmas residencies and festive gigs. It's fun to perform, engaging for all ages, and finishes with a totally baffling kicker ending.

You introduce four Christmas trees, showing the backs of the cards, each with a cute elf hiding behind it.

One elf is turned face up, and-one by one-the others magically turn face up to follow.
You send them back on their way again by turning the top elf face down... and once more, all the others follow.

You explain that when you work at the North Pole, you learn a lot of magic-and sometimes you catch elves cheating. Sometimes they even sneak in an extra elf to play tricks.

You reveal that the top card is the extra elf who has been hiding the whole time... but the real surprise is still to come.
When the remaining cards are turned over, the elves are gone entirely-replaced by Santa, Rudolph, Ted, and a Snowman.
