Inspired by the classic Okito box, theHindu BXis a toroidal box with a lid, designed to hold small objects inside-such as a folded piece of paper, a ring, or a playing card folded into quarters.
Its design features a central divider that, from the spectator's point of view, appears to be the bottom of the box. This clever construction allows the magician to show two versions of the box: one seemingly empty, and one containing a hidden object. In the original effect, the magician displays the box with a folded playing card, which drops into their palm when the box is turned over. The card is then revealed to bear the spectator's signature-mysteriously vanished from the deck.
While the mechanism is simple and the effect powerful, the traditional version has a limitation: the box cannot be visually examined from all angles, nor can it be held by the spectator without exposing the secret.
TheHindu BXsolves this issue with a false bottom that allows the box to be shown from any angle-even held in the spectator's hand-without revealing the method. This is made possible by a magnetically attached base that blends seamlessly with the box's design. When placed on the cloth bag that holds it, the base magnetically adheres to a printed design or ornament on the bag, camouflaging itself and effectively vanishing from view. This enables the magician to switch the object inside the box with one secretly palmed.
